Uwezo boasts multi-level partnership engagement, recognizing that the most effective way of achieving its objectives is through collaboration with key individuals, organizations and government departments. Uwezo Regional and Country offices possess Advisory Committees with strategically selected educational experts drawn from specialist departments like curriculum, examinations and bureau of statistics. For the first two years of operations, Uwezo was housed by national civil society organizations, with whom they continue to build strong partnerships.
Critically, Uwezo partners with one carefully selected civil society organization in every district of the three countries, from which one staff member is chosen to be the Coordinator for Uwezo Operations locally. This means that, across East Africa, Uwezo works in partnership with over 1,100 local partner organizations to promote learning across the region. In developing the assessment tests and sampling framework, Uwezo enjoys strong partnerships with technical experts from the Ministry of Education and Planning with support from the Ministry of Education.
Uwezo are currently compiling profiles from some of our local partner organizations across the three countries. These will be uploaded to the website shortly, so please keep checking back!
